Hi everyone! Jade here from the Product team at Tern.

This week’s updates are all about giving agency owners and admins clearer insights, faster communication with agents, and a few quality-of-life improvements to make your everyday work smoother. Let’s dive in.

Agency Dashboard

We’re thrilled to introduce the Agency Dashboard, your new home base for tracking what’s happening across your agency.

This view gives owners and admins at-a-glance visibility into key performance indicators, including:

  • Total bookings, sales volume, commission received, and agency income
  • Commission and income trends by month
  • Active authorizations across your agency
  • Trips that are traveling soon or about to depart

You can customize the dashboard to show or hide certain widgets—so you’re always seeing what matters most. Want to dig deeper? Click “View All KPIs” for quick access to the full Analytics tab.

This dashboard is designed to give you instant insight into the health of your agency without needing to export or search through reports.

Agent Payout Emails

You asked, we listened! It’s now easier than ever to notify agents when they’ve been paid.

When creating an agent payout, you’ll now see an option to “Email payout statements to agents.”

This sends each agent a detailed payout summary—complete with totals, issue date, and a customizable note.

Agents can click directly into the statement link in the email to view their payout details, confirm accuracy, and review all associated bookings.

This update helps streamline payday communication, reduces back-and-forth, and keeps everyone in the loop.

Quality-of-Life Improvements

We’ve also made a series of small updates that make Tern feel cleaner, faster, and more intuitive:

  • Dashboard polish: trip icon update and hover states are darker for better visibility. Incomplete form responses now display an “incomplete” flag so you can easily spot what still needs attention.
  • Calendar cleanup: filters are now respected when subscribing via an external calendar, and payments due for rejected or deleted itineraries will no longer appear.
  • Empty states: if you move items into a folder that doesn’t exist yet, you’ll see a clear message prompting you to create one first.
  • Analytics fix: per-person pricing now uses the number of travelers on the package, not the total travelers on the trip—ensuring consistent reporting.

That’s it for this week’s update!

With the new Agency Dashboard giving you clearer insights, Agent Payout Emails simplifying payday, and small usability improvements across the board, we’re continuing to make Tern smarter and more efficient for every advisor and agency team.

As always, your feedback fuels our work. Let us know what you think and stay tuned for more updates next week!
