A New Era for Tern Starts Now

The final webinar of 2025 was more than a product update. It marked the beginning of a new era for Tern. Your platform no longer only organizes your work. It now removes work for you.

We introduced booking integrations, a new photo library, major AI improvements, agency tools built for real operations, and a roadmap that shows how fast we are moving. If you have been waiting for the right moment to see what Tern can do, this is that moment.

Booking Inside Tern

We have been so excited to share this integration with users. Booking directly with suppliers is now available in Tern, beginning with Project Expedition for tours and activities. This is a huge step forward for the platform and a major shift in how advisors work.

Until now, advisors planned in Tern and booked elsewhere. That created a long list of extra manual steps. With this release, advisors can plan, organize, book, and reconcile commissions in one connected flow. End to end, the entire process now lives inside Tern. We are launching with Project Expedition, but this is only the start. We will expand to additional suppliers and product types over the coming year. We will never decide which suppliers you should partner with. Our goal is to support the way you already work, not to shape it.

As we introduced booking, we wanted to be clear about something important. Tern is here to support advisors and agencies. We are not a host agency. We do not take your commissions. You own your relationships and your revenue. That will not change. You also choose your partners. Our goal is to integrate with multiple providers in every category so you always have flexibility and choice.

Project Expedition was a perfect first partner for this launch. Their team understands advisors and deeply values supplier relationships. From the first conversation, it was clear that we shared the same mission. Together, we built a booking experience that removes friction instead of adding it.

Here is what booking with Project Expedition looks like inside Tern. You can search their full public catalog, add tours to itineraries, see real-time pricing, and complete bookings without leaving the platform. Inventory updates instantly. When clients authorize payment, Tern completes the booking, updates the confirmation number, and adds expected commission information. You keep your credentials and your commissions, just as you always have.

Prices shown through the integration may differ from the supplier website. You can always book through whichever channel works best for your business.

Rob Keen, Co-Founder of Project Expedition, captured the spirit of this partnership.
"We are thrilled to partner with Tern. From the moment I met Katie and David, it was clear they are building something meaningful. Their technology expertise and their commitment to strong, personal relationships align with Project Expedition’s mission to empower Travel Advisors to plan and book the best in-destination experiences."

Booking is live in beta starting today. You can connect your Project Expedition account in Tern’s integration settings. We cannot wait to continue improving this experience with your feedback throughout early 2026.

Build Trips Faster Than Ever

This release includes some of the biggest workflow improvements we have made all year. These updates remove friction across the trip-building process and give you the speed you need to take full advantage of everything else in the launch. You can now swap itinerary days instantly. If day 2 needs to become day 3, it happens in two clicks, which means no more dragging and rearranging long activity lists by hand.

PDF downloads now use cleaner formatting and stronger page breaks, so the documents you share with clients look more professional and are easier to open offline. Trip documents also live in one place. You can upload a file once and reuse it anywhere in a trip without creating duplicates or losing track of versions.

Global search is now available across Tern, allowing you to pull up any trip or contact in seconds by searching for a name, phone number, email address, or confirmation number. We also added a large library of Unsplash stock photos to help you elevate your itineraries and proposals with very little effort.

Each improvement saves minutes. Together, they save hours and make trip building significantly faster.

Your Photos, Finally Organized

Your personal photos have always been one of your most valuable tools, and until now Tern did not give you a strong way to manage any of them. This release changes that. Your new personal photo library lets you upload one hundred photos at a time and organize them in a way that reflects how you actually work. You can sort by location or supplier, create folders, tag images, search your entire collection, and add photos to trips in seconds.

Agencies can also share photos across their teams, creating a shared library that improves with every trip planned. We added a community gallery as well, which includes a curated starter collection from top destinations. You can contribute your own photos to showcase your expertise to the larger Tern community. Your photos finally have a home inside Tern, and they now play a meaningful role in how you plan and present your work.

AI Assist 2.0

AI Assist received one of the biggest upgrades in this release. We rebuilt it from the foundation up to make it faster, more accurate, and far more useful for real advisor workflows. The new system preserves more detail from PDFs and supplier materials, which means you get content that feels cleaner and closer to the source. It also connects properties to Tern’s verified database, giving you accurate descriptions and photos without cleanup.

The result is an assistant that saves time instead of creating more work. You can build itineraries faster, fill in details more confidently, and spend more of your day on the parts of your job that matter most to clients. You will notice the improvement the first time you use it, and more enhancements are already planned for early 2026.

Agency Tools That Scale With You

More than one thousand agencies now run on Tern, and this release reflects what it takes to support operations at that scale. The new agency dashboard gives you a clear view of your business, including authorizations, traveling trips, bookings, sales, and commissions. Everything is centralized, so agencies can make decisions with better insight and less manual effort.

Automated payout emails also streamline the commission process. Each advisor receives a link to their statement, which includes a full breakdown of bookings, adjustments, and earnings. Agency-managed contacts help protect the relationships your agency owns, ensuring that shared contacts remain accessible even if an advisor leaves. Reporting is more powerful too. You can review sales by property, filter by location, save custom views, and analyze nightly volume alongside revenue.

In January, the host and sub-agency model will go live. This framework supports layered organizations, flexible seat management, smoother collaboration, and accurate commission reconciliation across a variety of payout structures. These tools give agencies a stronger operational foundation without removing the flexibility that makes them unique.

What Is Coming in Q1 2026

Our mission for next year is simple. Make planning faster, booking easier, and agency operations stronger.

For advisors, we are building itemized pricing in packages, improved collaboration tools, easier activity creation, better group workflows including bulk email, and more enhancements to AI Assist.

For agencies, we are finalizing the host and sub-agency model, introducing multi-agent commission splits, designing mentor and mentee workflows, improving how unclaimed bookings are handled, expanding reporting, and adding AI-powered statement parsing and consortia integrations.

There is a lot more coming, and we will continue releasing updates throughout the quarter.

The Bottom Line

This launch marks an important moment for Tern and for the advisors who build their businesses on the platform. We have expanded what Tern can do, removed more of the manual work that slows you down, and opened the door to an entirely new planning and booking workflow. The best part is that we are only getting started. Thank you for building with us, giving feedback, pushing us, and helping shape what comes next. We cannot wait to show you everything we have planned for 2026.We spent 2025 proving that growth only makes us build faster. The team has doubled in size and every hire has been focused on speed, clarity, and execution. The December launch shows what that looks like in practice. Photo libraries. Booking integrations. Agency management tools. AI upgrades. A roadmap that points to everything still ahead.
