Hi there! Molly here, bringing you this week’s product update from the Tern team. Let's dive in!
New Agency Settings: Stay in Sync with Your Team’s Policies
We know that as an agency owner, maintaining consistency across your team matters. That’s why we’ve introduced two new settings inside your Settings > Agency > Financial Settings:
Credit Card Authorization Requirements: you can now require your agents to add a supplier refund policy and terms & conditions if they collect payment authorization. You can't auto-populate those per-supplier yet, but we'll be adding those upgrades in the near future!
Booking Field Requirements: make fields like supplier name, agency supplier, or confirmation number mandatory before an agent can mark a booking as "Booked." This makes reconciliation with supplier payments smoother and more reliable.
These settings apply across your entire agency, helping you enforce your standards without micromanaging day-to-day tasks.
Tip: If your agents ever get stuck, we’ve also added a help article that walks through what they need to fill out.
Editor Improvements: Cleaner, Smoother, Smarter
The new editor has been a game-changer, but we’re continuing to make it better based on your feedback. Here’s what’s new:
First Name Variables in One-Off Trip Emails: these didn’t exist in the old editor, but now you can personalize one-off emails without skipping a beat.
Better Table Formatting: we’ve made some polish updates to tables.
Fixed Invisible New Lines: some advisors saw mysterious line breaks when old content was converted (this didn't impact what went out to clients, but caused confusion in 'edit mode'. That’s now resolved—what you see is truly what you get. Learn more here.
Quality of life improvements
Tern is getting friendlier on iPads and phones. If you’ve ever been frustrated by trying to manage contacts on a smaller screen, good news:
You’ll now see the tab you’re actually on (not just the default About tab).
Tabs stack better visually, so key content is easier to access on mobile.
Again, we know these changes are small, but they will add up over the coming weeks!
We also cleaned up how different documents looked on the traveler mobile app, if you had documents spanning across multiple categories.
Wondering Where the Big Features Are? 👀
This week's update might have been a bit light... But don’t worry. We’re putting the final touches on some major updates that are currently in beta and will be revealed:
First at our User Conference (in just a couple weeks)
Then during a public Product Webinar shortly after
We’re keeping these under wraps for now, but you’ll want to be there.
