It’s been a big week at Tern, and we’re excited to share what’s new. Let’s dive in!
Our First Insurance Integration Is In Beta
We’re thrilled to officially launch Tern’s first insurance integration with Arch RoamRight. This is the beginning of many insurance integrations to come, and it’s a big step forward in simplifying how you offer and manage insurance for your clients.
With this integration, you can now:
- Get instant insurance quotes based on trip cost and traveler details
- Pull trip dates, destinations, and traveler information directly from the itinerary
- Let clients book their policy directly with Arch without leaving Tern
- New as of yesterday, you can also directly edit the trip coverage amount if you need to for any reason (eg to exclude flight costs, or set it at $0 for certain Arch policies)
Once you’re set up with Arch, connecting the integration in Tern is quick. Your commission flow stays exactly the same. The difference is speed, accuracy, and a much smoother client experience. Learn more.

Agency Terms and Conditions, Finally Centralized
This is a big one for agency owners and administrators.
You can now add agency-wide terms and conditions once, publish them, and have them automatically applied everywhere they’re needed. That includes credit card authorizations and invoices across all agency trips.
What this means in practice:
- Agents no longer need to manage duplicate or inconsistent T&Cs
- Your agency terms are automatically linked without extra steps
- New agents are no longer blocked from using credit card authorization because they haven’t added their own waivers
- Agents can still add their own supplemental t&cs if needed, or remove it if it’s redundant
Forms support for agency terms and conditions is coming very soon, which will make this even more powerful. Learn more.

Agency-Managed Trips for Better Control
We’ve introduced agency-managed trips to help agency owners protect access and oversight.
Any new trip created by an agency administrator will now default to being agency-managed. Even if ownership is transferred to an agent, the agency can’t be removed from the trip - and the agent can't delete the trip either.
Trips agents create themselves won't be set to 'agency-managed' by default - but you can turn on this setting at any time. Plus, once a booking is made with your credentials, the trip will be automatically locked down.
This brings the same peace of mind you already have with agency-managed contacts to trip planning and bookings. Learn more.

Quality of Life Improvements You’ll Notice Right Away
There’s a long list of smaller improvements shipping alongside these larger updates. Here are some highlights.
Clearer language across commissions We made wording updates like renaming the “Due” tab to “Ready to Pay” and adjusting labels such as “Agent” to “Payable To.” These are prep changes for upcoming host and commission enhancements. No functionality changed.
Better package creation Packages created in trip templates now open in the same standalone experience you see on regular trips. Everything feels consistent and familiar.
Cleaner Booking and Pricing experience Optional add-ons and packages are easier to see and understand, with clearer visual structure and pricing presentation. This lays the groundwork for future improvements to itemized package pricing.
Exports for large agencies Large agency partners should now be able to export all bookings without running into timeouts, even with growing datasets.
Agent ID field Agency owners can now store an external agent ID directly on each team member profile, making it easier to reference with outside CRMs or systems.
Calendar time zone fixes Your Tern calendar now respects your local time zone instead of defaulting to UTC.
Standardized country and state fields Country and state are now drop-downs on contacts, improving consistency and supporting insurance requirements. Military states are on the way very shortly - thank you to all who flagged this oversight!
Improved booking merge experience We’ve refined filtering and visibility when merging duplicate bookings, making it easier to clean up data after implementation or imports.
Bug Fixes and Cleanup
We also shipped several fixes behind the scenes, including:
- Resolving edge cases where custom commission splits could reset unexpectedly
- Fixing a broken link in the new user contacts empty state
Looking Ahead
This week’s release reflects a lot of long-standing requests from advisors and agencies, and it sets the stage for even more improvements already in progress. Insurance integrations will continue to expand, agency tools will keep getting stronger, and we’ll keep focusing on removing friction from your day-to-day work.
As always, we’d love your feedback. Let us know what you think as you start using these updates, and thank you for helping us shape what comes next.
