Kicking Off 2026: New Year, New Features to Power Your Business

Hello everyone! We’re thrilled to share Tern’s first product update of 2026. As always, our goal is to make your day-to-day work smoother, smarter, and more efficient so you can focus on what really matters—your clients.

Smarter Time Zone Management

We’ve heard your feedback about inconsistencies with dashboard and report data resetting unexpectedly. Previously, some of our systems relied on UTC time, which caused numbers to reset at odd hours depending on your time zone. Now, Tern respects your local time zone settings across dashboards and reports. You’ll also be prompted to confirm your time zone for accuracy. If you notice any areas that still seem off, please reach out to our support team—this update gives us better tools to fix time-based issues quickly.

Upgraded Mobile App

We’ve rolled out a technical upgrade to the Tern mobile app. Most of these changes are behind the scenes, improving performance and stability. For those who experienced issues with embedded YouTube videos, we’re happy to share that this bug has been resolved.

Merge Duplicate Bookings (Beta)

Agency admins now have access to a beta feature for merging duplicate bookings—especially helpful during onboarding or when importing data from other systems. You can now:

  • Identify potential duplicates based on confirmation numbers and details
  • Merge bookings while preserving key information like payments and trip status
  • Review exactly how data will be combined before confirming

Rich Text Editing for Cancellation Policies

You asked, and we delivered. You can now format cancellation policies with a full Rich Text Editor—add bullet points, tables, and other formatting to make your terms crystal clear.

Commission Payout Reports

Our new Commission Payouts Report makes your end of year tax lives easy! Versions are available for agency admins and for advisors.

Here’s what you can do:

  • Filter by advisor, payout date, confirmation number and more
  • View totals by advisor and see lists of payouts
  • Export data for quick reporting
  • Save views for recurring use

Quality-of-Life Improvements

We’ve also introduced several small but meaningful enhancements:

  • Departed agents can now still view the bookings they’re owed commission for, ensuring transparency even after leaving an agency.
  • Form attachments on emails now include a clearer “View Form” button so travelers don’t miss action items.
  • Photo library searches now feature a simple “X” button for quick clearing.
  • Verified lodging indicators help you identify hotels in our database that include photos and descriptions, reducing guesswork when multiple listings appear.
