It’s been a big week for Tern, and we couldn’t be more excited to share one of the most requested updates for group travel - occupancy-based pricing for room options. This update unlocks a huge leap forward in how group trips are priced and sold in Tern, and it’s just the start.

Tern now supports occupancy-based pricing

One of the biggest friction points in group travel has been pricing complexity. We’ve now introduced occupancy-based pricing for room options - allowing you to define single, double, triple, and quadruple occupancy rates, and show travelers the correct price automatically as they sign up.

Whether you're offering cruise cabins or hotel rooms, you can now set specific prices for each occupancy type. Travelers will see rates update in real time based on how many people are assigned to a room. It’s a huge time saver—and it drastically reduces confusion during the signup process.

We’ve also heard interest in expanding this to include child rates, pet rates, and other modifiers. That’s on our radar for future updates!

Streamlining every click: recent quality-of-life upgrades

Alongside this bigger launch, we’ve introduced a handful of thoughtful improvements designed to speed up your day-to-day:

• Clean pricing inputs: We've removed the old placeholder “0.00” value from pricing fields. No more backspacing or overwriting - just click and go.
• One-click loyalty program copy: When making bookings from the trip overview, you can now copy loyalty program numbers with a single click. It’s a small tweak that adds up fast.
• Complete tasks right from your trip overview: Upcoming tasks can now be marked as complete from the overview. Thanks for the great suggestion from our community on this!
• Sticky headers in pricing setup: It’s now easier to see where you are and what still needs configuration when setting up activities. Small visual feedback = fewer mistakes.
