Stepping into the vast halls of Virtuoso's 35th Travel Week in Las Vegas was an incredible experience. Having the opportunity to present at the Technology Summit just six months after we launched Tern was an incredible privilege.

When Katie and I took the stage, our central message was clear: the future of travel tech lies in vertically integrated operating systems. Such systems pave the way for a cohesive environment where advisors, host agencies, suppliers, and travelers can seamlessly interact. We see the travel technology space today as being disjointed and cobbled together.

This integration isn’t just about technology for its own sake. It's about enhancing the human touch in travel. At Tern, we've always believed that the magic happens when technology complements human expertise, not when it replaces it.

Stuart Greif’s riveting keynote on Social Commerce was a stark reminder that the dynamics of customer engagement are constantly shifting. Yet, amidst this technological evolution, the essence of travel remains the same - it's about experiences, connections, and memories. Our mission at Tern is to ensure that technology amplifies these elements rather than diluting them.

Witnessing other startups, like HyperGuest and TravelWits, only reinforced our convictions. While they each bring their own unique solutions, the underlying message is consistent: technology, when used judiciously, can elevate the travel experience.

It's an exhilarating time for the travel tech industry. However, as we co-create this exciting future, we must remember that technology serves as a tool, not a replacement. A balance between the digital and the human touch will always provide richer, more fulfilling travel experiences.

In wrapping up my reflections on this summit, I believe it’s this collaboration between humans and technology that will chart the course for the future of travel. At Tern, we're committed to leading the way.
